Solar Water Heating

Another option for harnessing the free energy from the sun is direct heating of domestic hot water and space heating. The collector units for these systems resemble solar photovoltaic modules and are installed in a similar manner. Unlike photovoltaics which convert the energy from the sun into electricity, solar water heaters use the suns energy to heat a glycol or alcohol solution which is then circulated through a closed loop system through your domestic hot water. This helps heat your hot water without the use of any type of fuel.
